  Description:  This class is for parents who are looking for long-term parenting skills that will encourage their children to think for themselves, become more responsible and have a greater respect for themselves and others. The teachings of Positive Discipline are filled with non-punitive, respectful methods that will incorporate kindness and firmness into parenting, help parents get to the core of their child's misbehavior, bring more joy into the home and give parents a sense of accomplishment.
  
  Cost:  Early Bird registration by Sunday,April 8th: $90 individual/$125 couple.  After April 7th: $110/person, $145/couple (spouse or parenting partner). Includes binder of hand-out packets. Added charge of $12.00 for copy of book, Positive Discipline, by Jane Nelson, Ed.D which we will read for class. Childcare available for children ages 3+ and potty trained for extra charge.

  Create a base for building a strong parenting philosophy and learn effective tools to navigate the early years of your child's development. You will be shown concrete ways to build important life skills such as responsibility, cooperation, empathy, healthy communication, coping with anger and frustration and more. You will also learn how to proactively address tantrums, sibling rivalry, understand your child's temperament, create a co-parenting connection, nurture social, emotional and academic development and more. In this experiential workshop you will actively engage in your own learning, meet other like-minded parents and build life-long connections!

  I have been a credentialed multiple subject elementary school teacher and parent educator for over 20 years. I received my B.A from U.C.L.A. and my M.A. in Education from Columbia University. Through my work with teachers, parents, educators, therapists, doctors, nurses, lawyers, scientists and artists, I have come to see that Positive Discipline is the most comprehensive and useful set of life skills and tools one can have today to achieve academic, social and emotional success.

  Positive Discipline for Preschoolers is a six week, hands-on and interactive course that teaches parents and caregivers of young children tools for positive discipline that work! You will also be empowered to help your child develop cooperation, responsibility, and problem-solving skills while creating a more peaceful and united environment in the family.

  Julie Iraninejad, M.Ed. is a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer Candidate through the Positive Discipline Association. She is also an International Network for Children and Families (INCAF) certified Redirecting Children's Behavior (RCB) Instructor and is trained to teach RCB principles to children. Julie has a Masters of Education in Montessori/early childhood education and has many years of teaching experience. She is a Virtues Project Facilitator and is also a wife and mother of two precious children.
