Workshop Description:

New and experienced parent educators who want tools, new ideas, activities and enthusiasm.  Therapists who want to offer parenting classes for their clients and/or use in their sessions with parents.  School personnel, nurses, counselors, youth workers and others who deal with parents, children and young people.  Parents looking for help with children of all ages.

Learn research-based, effective tools and techniques for teaching parents how to use discipline that is kind and firm at the same time, neither punitive nor permissive.  Learn how to work with and teach parents who love their children but lack tools and resources to parent effectively for today’s world.  Gain practice with experiential exercises that help adults go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways with children.  Have a set of resource materials adaptable for use with all age and focus groups, and other parenting and mentor programs.

As a featured speaker and trainer at the Texas Alcohol and Drug Abuse Conferences, HeadStart, YMCA, Family Outreach, North American Society of Adlerian Psychology, and many other agencies, schools, and businesses throughout the US, she has continued to promote Positive Discipline as a way to transform relationships in families, schools, communities, and businesses.
