This two-day interactive workshop is designed for teachers, counselors, school staff and administrators who want an effective discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors. Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educators and will learn to:
• Develop a large teaching toolbox of kind and firm discipline approaches.
• Establish explicit classroom structures and procedures.
• Create an equitable classroom community based on mutual respect.
• Understand the motivation behind students' misbehavior and how to encourage positive change.
• Facilitate effective class meetings teaching social skills and problem-solving.
General Public -- $375 Early Registration received and paid by Aug. 12, 2014, Regular Registration $425 (includes materials).
Registration fee includes a complete curriculum, Positive Discipline in the Classroom book and manual.
Adler School Students -- $275 Early Registration if received and paid by Aug. 12, 2014.
Regular Registration $300 if paid after Aug. 12, 2014. Prices include books.
Dina is a Certified Positive Discipline Lead Trainer with over 30 years of experience in education. She has taught every grade level - pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade - as well as college students, teachers and parents. For nine years she served as the principal of an Adlerian elementary/middle school whose staff incorporated the Positive Discipline principles including classroom meetings. Currently Dina works as a Certified Professional Coach with individuals and organizations who want to maximize their effectiveness. She incorporates Positive Discipline ideas and strategies into her practice, and also presents Positive Discipline workshops to schools and agencies nationally and internationally.
Dina has presented at educational conferences in the U.S. and Canada. Her practical experience with Positive Discipline is extensive, and she raised her two children using these principles. She has also experienced the effects of Positive Discipline first hand as a classroom teacher and school principal, along with teaching numerous classes and workshops for teachers, school administrators, and parents. Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop.
Special Events, Teleconferences and Merchandise: For all other items or events, the processing fee will be 10% of the purchase price or a minimum of $5. Otherwise, the same policy applies.
