Facilitator Information: 
JOY SACCO is a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer who has been teaching the Positive Discipline model to both parents and educators for over ten years. Joy teaches 3rd grade at Stratford Schools in Mission Viejo, CA and has taught Kindergarten through 8th grade over the course of 20 years. She is the organizer of the Southern California Positive Discipline Mentor Group. She is a wife and mother of two sons. 

LOIS INGBER is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Positive Discipline Lead Trainer. She has 30+ years experience providing counseling, coaching, classes and consulting services for families, schools, and in the wider community. Lois is a frequent presenter at conferences and workshops both in the U.S. and China, sharing Positive Discipline and other applications of Adlerian Psychology. She has published several articles on Adlerian Psychology and Positive Discipline. Lois believes that learning and using the skills of mutually respectful relationships is the key to personal and social harmony, and of mental health.

Workshop Description: 
This two-day interactive workshop is designed for teachers, counselors, school staff and administrators who want an effective discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors. Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and will learn to: 

  1. Develop a large teaching toolbox of kind and firm discipline approaches. 
  2. Establish explicit classroom structures and procedures. 
  3. Create an equitable classroom community based on mutual respect. 
  4. Understand the motivation behind students' misbehavior and how to encourage positive change. 
  5. Facilitate effective class meetings teaching social skills and problem-solving. 
  6. Learn Positive Discipline/Adlerian Psychology for use in the classroom and school community. 

Cost: $375 early registration, available until July 25, 2018. $425 regular registration. Three or more registrations together take $25 off the fee.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop. 

In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
