Facilitator Information:

Hamida Elemam is an engineer , when she became mother and found the way of positive discipline she found her desire to help others so she obtained the certificate of Positive Discipline Educator and she presented many workshops of the Positive Discipline Way for parenting then became candidate trainer in order to help more people by spreading the positive discipline and now she is a trainer. She also obtained the certificate of Positive Discipline in the Classroom in order to help children, teaching them about building character. She has taught many workshops offline and online for kids from different ages. She also gained the certificate of Empowering People in Workplace which helped her to teach and train numerous teams, especially some teams inside the company that she works as an engineer, and she found the effect of that in a large scale. Hamida's passion is teaching so she also obtained the certificate to become a Practitioner of the training of "Training form the Back of the Room" to involve the newest way in her training. She also conducts sessions one on one as Encouragement Consultant and APG Practitioner. Mainly, she is human that loves humanity and a mother of 3 (2 daughters and 1 son).

Workshop Description:

Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way (developed by Lynn Lott and Jane Nelsen) is a research-based parent education program that provides a step-by-step approach to starting and leading experientially based parenting groups. This program stands alone or offers significant enhancement to any program. It provides experiential activities that reach the heart to inspire deeper understanding and change.

Participants in this workshop will:

Learn research based effective tools and techniques for teaching parents how to use discipline that is kind and firm at the same time (non-punitive, non-permissive).
Learn how to facilitate a parent class from the position of a non-expert.
Gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children.
Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes and individual work with families.

Positive Discipline Association courses approved for Graduate-Level Semester Credits through University of the Pacific will appear on an Official Transcript with a letter grade.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop.

In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
