Parenting Class Description:  Parenting Has Changed Over the Years. Discipline, Managing Big Emotions, and How Family Members Talk to Each Other is Different Today. Parents get conflicting parenting advice from so many different people: their peers, their child's pediatrician, and social media! And sometimes from their own parents. They can feel overwhelmed and pressured trying to decide which advice to follow. As a grandparent, you may see things differently from your adult child based on your own experience. And sometimes, those differences can create tension. Your relationship is fragile. When there are disagreements, your relationship can be affected. Sometimes the biggest generation gap is over how parents care for their child.

During this talk we will explore some of the most common discipline approaches today—and how they differ, including their pros and cons. You may also find differences in how emotions are expressed and how your family communicates today vs. when you were raising your child. You will get some ideas on what may help. This will be a non-judgmental forum where you can learn more about how you can improve your communication with your grandchild's parents. This is a FREE talk. We will meet on Zoom. This is a LIVE call. It is not a recording. There will be time for Q&A.
